Does ring security system connect to police?

When you trigger SOS within the Ring app, a signal requesting police, fire, or medical response is sent. The monitoring center will call your first emergency contact. If no one answers, the monitoring center will request police, fire dispatch or medical response depending on your selection. [1]

SimpliSafe will notify the police in the event of an emergency or if a system alarm is triggered. If the monitoring service can not get ahold of the user, or the user provides the wrong safe word or password, the police will be immediately dispatched to the residence or business.15 Mar 2022 [2]

ADT will call the police if there is an emergency that activates the alarm. ADT will attempt to call the homeowners first. If the homeowners cannot be reached, a phone call will be made to the local police dispatch. If you plan on using ADT as a home monitoring service, this is useful information to have.10 Aug 2021 [3]

A Vivint monitoring agent will connect to the panel and listen silently for 30 seconds for suspicious activity. If suspicious activity is not heard, the monitoring agent will disconnect and dispatch the local police or guard. [4]

From the dashboard or Live View, tap the red SOS icon in the upper right corner of the screen. To request police or fire dispatch, slide the police or fire department icon from left to right. To sound the siren, tap the blue Sound Siren Only button. [6]

Some alarm companies, including ADT and ACS, offer the additional service of officer and/or armed response. This means the alarm company will dispatch a private security officer to your home to check out the disturbance. [11]

ADT ranges from 10-30 seconds, Frontpoint from 30-45 seconds, while Guardian and Xfinity may stretch up to a solid minute. That’s how long it takes for the police to respond to an alarm.
